Reported Speech
Когда мы передаем чьи-то слова без прямого цитирования, используется косвенная речь.

Прямая речь: He said, "I will come tomorrow."

Косвенная речь: He said that he would come the next day.
Important rules:

Change of pronouns:
She said, "I am going to the meeting." → She said that she was going to the meeting. -
Change of tenses:
They said, "We are working on a new project." → They said that they were working on a new project. -
No change in the present perfect, past perfect, or modals:
She said, "I have finished the work." → She said that she had finished the work.
